Environment art work for 100 Thieves' Bank Heist Fortnite map.
I had a blast working on this map. We got together as a team and brainstormed quickly what to make, and from start to finish took about 4 months to finalize the entire map. Very refreshing to work with a tight deadline and get something released earlier than later!
My responsibilities as the Director of the environment art team included creating the art blockout for the entire map (minus the bank, which was headed by César Altagracia), creating master materials, defining the texturing style, and executing the environment art in the Bronx and Modern areas in the screenshots shown above. I also took care of the lighting (making sure it looks good on all scalability levels, not an easy task, if you ever tried it you know :)), and optimization (which is a bit hard in UEFN, since Epic removed the debug views... wtf?)
I hope you enjoy these screens and make sure to check out the work of other talented team members that worked on this map:

To play it use this island code in Fortnite: 3339-4063-3278
Sidewalk kit with procedural vertex color driven puddles. Using worldspace UVs and a little angle on the floor, allows you to overlap them without zfighting :)
An example of some of the features of the architecture shader - in this case using Vertex Color gradients combined with WS masks to create procedural grime.
Another example of the ground shader to add global puddles to the sidewalk.
Old trailer from when the map was in art blockout stage :)
